A second visit to the US Open allowed me to take those images of some very famous tennis players during their practice. Hope you like them
While practicing his serve on Louis Armstrong arena, Novak Djokovic heard somebody shouting : “Djokovic, will you marry me? ” . Turned out to be a child, and Novak being amused (as well as the spectators) invited the child on the court , gave him his racquet and asked him to practice a few serves – which the boy did, quite well I would say. Everybody had fun as you can see from attached images.
One of the 4 grand slam tennis tournaments (US Open) takes place each year in New York. The first week before the official opening starts with Qualifying Tournament, in which 128 men and 128 women compete to catch a place in the main tournament and face the greatest players. The best part of this first week is that it is completely free to public, so I took advantage of that yesterday. You can see celebrity players up close, training for next week , as well as not so famous players playing in the qualifying tournament.
- Victoria Azarenka currently world no 1, during training session
- American Bobby Reynolds in the qualifying match against Australian James Duckworth
- Romanian Marius Copil, in the qualifying match against Ruben Bemelmans (which he won)
- David Ferrer, currently world no 5 player
- Signing autographs for children
- Roger Federer being interviewed by Jim Courier
Street art in Williamsbug, Brooklyn – one of the booming neighborhood in New York, where a lot of young people want to live, despite higher than average housing costs.
It’s always a pleasure to watch those people (mostly the same all the time) roller skating in Central Park, every single weekend. Seems that they are members of a club, and they really enjoy their hobby. Too bad I can’t add to my post the music accompanying them while skating.
